Job Description
We are currently seeking dedicated and reliable Refuse Collectors to join our team and contribute to the efficient collection and disposal of waste in our community. As a Refuse Collector, you will play a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation while ensuring the proper handling and disposal of refuse materials.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate refuse collection vehicles to pick up and transport waste from residential and commercial areas
- Follow designated routes and schedules to ensure timely collection of refuse
- Empty trash and recycling bins into the collection vehicle
- Sort and separate recyclable materials from non-recyclable waste
- Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of collection vehicles and equipment
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to coordinate work activities
- Provide assistance to residents and businesses with questions or concerns regarding waste disposal
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects
- Basic mechanical aptitude for performing minor vehicle maintenance
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Strong work ethic and reliability
